Birthday nod to late actress Betty Marsden here at #CarryOn 40th reunion Pinewood Studios in 1998. She said when she died she wanted to go with a drink in her hand. She did just that when she sadly passed three months later at the bar of an Actors Home, holding a large G&T.

Just watched the thoroughly enjoyable Crow Hollow on TPTV Encore Talking Pictures TV. The truly wonderful Esma Cannon lifted every single film she appeared in, didn't she?

Remembering the English actor #RichardWattis who was #BOTD in Wednesbury 1912. Often seen playing officious roles in a career that lasted over 30 years. Such was his popularity a residential development, Richard Wattis Drive, is named in his honour in his home town of Wednesbury.

Eighteen months shy of 90 years old the wonderful acting legend that is Amanda Barrie. Such a joyous entertaining lady. Much laughter with her at an event in London today.

66 years ago today shooting started on a small budget comedy called Carry On Sergeant. The rest, a total of 31 films, countless TV specials, & stage shows is Britcom history. Here is a group shot from the 40th anniversary reunion I co-organised at Pinewood Studios in 1998.
