So I have to be honest. I’m saddened. The ice is good everywhere but against the boards where the building is. But man, that sun is hot. Looks like trips south may be unnecessary soon. Our ice team will Leave green flag up until Fri.Then red all day Fri to try to save ice for Sat

Why save the ice for Saturday? Well Saturday is the Carp Winter Carnival. Houseleague games 8:30 to 1:00, then kids games and all sorts of fun stuff to do, like sleigh rides, maple taffy, hot dogs and bacon on a bun.

Just so ya know, ODR will be open for skate changes and warm ups/bathroom tonight until 9:00 and tomorrow til 9:00.

Well it’s time to PIVOT! For the Carp Winter Carnival tomorrow all on ice activities are cancelled. So no hockey games. However, back bacon on a bun, maple taffy, sleigh rides are still on. Man what weather. Get a hot dog at lunch time too! All at the ODR tomorrow. 🌞

Sadly the Carp ODR is now closed for the season. Rebounding from the last thaw/rain has proven to be impossible when coupled with a strong sun that melts all the ice teams progress beforehand. Thank you to Warren, Joe and Terry, our ice team. A cold winter next please.

Two large bins arrive later this afternoon to take all your scrap metal and e-waste. This weekend is a great opportunity to keep metals out of the landfill and into useable recycled stuff. We have youth volunteers located at the bins from 9-5 Saturday and Sunday.

Thank you Carp and surrounding areas! This past weekend’s metals and ewaste collection was another resounding success! You donated 3 bins of metal, 1 bin of e-waste, 1 pallet of batteries and 5 garbage pails of insulated copper wire! We do it all again in October after the Fair

HCA Carp Election Debate – April 9, 7:30 Kanata Riding (Carp Village riding) candidates Greg Kung ,Jennifer Purdy and Jenna Sudds have agreed to debate on Wednesday night (April 9th) at 7:30 PM at the Carp Ag Hall on the Fairgrounds. This is a chance for you to play a role.

The HCA is running another e-waste and metal recycling weekend on October 24-26 at the WEJ Arena parking lot. Details can be found at HCA-carp.ca

West Carleton’s awesome outdoor hockey league has opened registration for the 2026 hockey season. Carp has teams at all age groups. $70 to play, shirt and socks provided. It’s a sweet deal where kids learn to play Canada’s sport in the great outdoors. Non competitive, fun games.
