Last week, union carpenters participated in a back-to-school event at Corona Plaza in partnership with Donovan Richards Jr., Catalina Cruz, Esq., Jessica González-Rojas, MetroPlusHealth, the Elmhurst-Corona Family Enrichment Center, and New York Mets!
It was great to participate in two Bronx back-to-school giveaways last week! In partnership with NYS Assembly Member John Zaccaro Jr, we provided 100 book bags and 100 supply kits in Norwood, and worked with Carl E. Heastie's office and ICNA Relief to donate 168 backpacks for students of the Northeast Bronx!

Last week, we were proud to join Roxanne J. Persaud's Family Fun Day in Canarsie Park, Brooklyn, as well as Jessica González-Rojas, Tiffany Cabán, Team AOC, and Sen. Mike Gianaris’s back-to-school drive in Astoria, Queens! In total, we distributed 250 book bags and 250 sets of school supplies.
Thank you to Office of New York City Comptroller Brad Lander for establishing this much needed initiative. Workplace violations don’t belong anywhere in NYC. This “Wall of Shame” is a much-needed tool in combating workplace violations and protecting hard-working NYers!
Last week, we attended a back-to-school event at Kaiser Park in Coney Island, Brooklyn, organized by Jessica Scarcella-Spanton with the support from MetroPlusHealth, Optimum, NYU Langone Health, and Brooklyn Public Library. We are proud to have provided 100 book bags and school supply kits.
Last week, we partnered with Assemblymember Steven Raga to host a back-to-school giveaway in Maspeth, Queens! We then attended a back-to-school drive at the Queens Public Library in Forest Hills, organized in partnership with Lynn Schulman 舒曼琳, Queens DA Katz, Forest Hills Stadium, and Grace Meng.
