New admissions/week โ€ข For some reason EC data always takes a bit longer to come through so I never really know if it's actually going down but it does appear to be slowing โ€ข Big increase for WC last week. You can expect KZN to follow a similar path โ€ข GP starting to go up now

#DecemberChallenge - if you've been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 please stay home & arrange a test. Staying home if you've potentially been exposed remains a key way to prevent the spread of Covid-19. #StaySafeMoveForward

State/private health workers - who have pulled SA through the first #Covid_19 wave - wonโ€™t be able to rest this festive season Theyโ€™ll be facing the devastation of a 2nd wave, after themselves battling with COVID infection and seeing colleagues die They deserve so much better

What the President could not say as his party would have his neck is that the Western Cape Gov medical health sector did what was needed during the lockdown and are able to cope with the increase in virus - other provinces are not!

WC hospital numbers Brackengate has seen a big increase in the last couple of weeks. Groote Schuur, Tygerberg & George also very busy. Private hospital numbers are more spread out - Melomed Mitchell's plain the highest with 54. WC covid admissions close to an all-time high.

Final word: The restrictions announced yesterday will actually make little to no difference to the rising numbers. Cases will keep going up through December and we will probably see a large number of deaths in January. Stay safe. Stay at home if possible. Don't be complacent.

Current Covid admissions in WC This is definitely the most concerning graph for WC. Covid admissions going past 2000 today and now at an all time high (2056 currently admitted). At the current rate it may pass that 2500 mark by next week.

Mr The Presidency ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ could you explain why the Minister Of Police needs over 30 SAPS members next to him enforcing COVID19 rules when a few km's away, innocent people are being killed by gang fighting and no often then not the excuse is a shortage of police officers? Unathi
