Not only did Trump deprive us of Hillary Clinton, you have to “thank” Bernie Sanders too, no one ran as hard against Trump the way Bernie Sanders ran against Hillary Clinton. Bernie didn’t want to be president, he wanted to deprive Hillary Clinton from being president.

I feel the need to name names. Idea that Clinton was "too prepared" was part of a broad authenticity narrative pushed across the political spectrum. Chris Matthews, Joe Scarborough, Maureen Dowd, Chuck Todd and various POLITICO journalists all pushed this (just to name a few).
