The Spanish Conquistador Ponce de Leon made his annual visit to Mr. Nelson's 8th Grade History classes. He shared stories of his days on the open waters exploring and seeking fortune! He discovered St. Augustine, FL in 1513 while searching for the Fountain of Youth. #ccsms

Today we reflect on the events of 9/11 and pray that God’s comfort will wrap around those who have experienced loss. We honor the bravery of citizens and first responders who acted heroically that day and pray for the first responders in our community who serve us every day.

Today, Roger Williams—who founded Rhode Island in 1636—dropped by Mr. Nelson's 8th-grade class. After being booted from Massachusetts by Puritan authorities, Roger moved to a place he named “Providence”, because God provided for him & his followers. #ccsms #todayatccs
