Jan had her annual #FES (Functional Electrical Stimulation) review💜The service from Odstock Medical Ltd (OML) based at Salisbury is exceptional👌 FES is a total game changer. Jan can't safely walk without it. LOVE all the stats! Especially the 3.6 million steps in a year🤯💜

We use lots of #emojis. They can be so useful for people with #Aphasia to aid understanding & communication of messages👍 But this is definitely a great reminder from the RNIB to keep in mind how the over use of emojis social media could also confuse a message. #WorldEmojiDay

19 yrs after #Stroke Jan still takes on new challenges! #Aphasia means Jan has difficulty with her speech, reading, writing & using numbers. Navigating security on Apps & Internet banking is really tricky. Jan is determined to find ways to do things. Always so independent 💜🥰

This is my #DWP face! After spending over 2 hrs on hold trying to sort something simple for mum. How can a "system" in place to support the vulnerable, sick and disabled be so completely inaccessible and ridiculous 🙄 #DWP #Stroke #Aphasia

Jan LOVES the #paralympics 💜🇬🇧 we watched the #Canoe race together earlier. Jan had a #Stroke in 2005 and has #Aphasia a #LanguageDisorder she finds speech difficult but communicates very well using #writing, #airwriting #gesture etc 💜 some great examples in this clip👍👏 🚣‍♀️🏊‍♀️

Found this old notebook from 2005/2006💜 Blew my mind how much we relied on writing. Mum had no speech but could write a lot of keywords or draw little diagrams. We pieced together what she wanted to say. So much effort for us all. Jan you've come so far💜😎 #Aphasia

It is incredibly unfortunate to have a #stroke but we are so grateful that Jan was able to get the best stroke treatment available in 2005 💜 it definitely saved enough of her brain to live a full and independent life.
