Nearly three quarters of new non-cancer pain opioid prescriptions were for patients with musculoskeletal conditions, despite limited evidence of the drug’s efficacy, according to the largest UK study of its kind from @officialuom, Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) and National Institute for Health and Care Research NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre.
