After that sad news of #BrianWilson passing watch this. Two gentlemen who possessed a unique talent of crafting astounding songs of complexity in the days of limited technology. Hope they’re reunited now.

Morning. Back Heart70s now but my phone has reminded me that 6 years ago I was serving breakfast on Smooth. Each morning I’d leave a message for the kids in their playroom. Did this at 4.30am! Mad that 18 months later we’d be living close to Sandbanks 🙏🏻 Dreams come true!

At last! I’ve been waiting for this 🥳

One of my most vivid memories was being at Calshot in 82 watching the forces leave for The Falklands. A guy with a convertible TR7 had Sir Rod Stewart & Sailing blasting out. It was so painful seeing so many in tears.

I love us Brits. It’s a bit breezy and not that warm but these guys are enjoying the evening at Alum Chine. I’m not swimming tonight just a stroll to Sandbanks and back… & some people watching along the way.

After a 45 minute stroll from Alum Chine I made it to Sandbanks. Sat alone with a coffee and a bag of nuts. Admiring Brownsea as the sun slowly sets over Poole Harbour. Even found a table with my name on it.

Good grief. It’s 10.13pm I’m watching this great retrospective on 1974 on Channel 5 and they’ve felt a need to warn us of scenes of nudity! Really? Are we now that sensitive and easily offended that we need a warning that we may see a little excessive flesh 🤦🏻

If you’re a dad, or a father figure I hope today you’re reminded of how appreciated you are. Like many others I’ll be thinking of my late father today. He constantly gave me love, encouragement, wisdom, protection & his time! - Even when he was dying. We had 30 brilliant years

Weeding and another cut sorted but after just a few days of summer sun on the south coast our south facing garden is looking thirsty and as pale as my thatch. A little more to do then it’s New Forest Cider time 👅

It’s been a really stressful day so before dinner I’ve grabbed an hour of swimming at Mudeford. Feel the stress draining away. So happy Martha is on the beach with me! Actually being seen with Dad in his swim shorts! Just the two of us! It’s like a late Father’s Day treat.

Amazing down at the beach late this afternoon. Sea so still & nicely tepid after all that sun. Out of the water, home, shower & quick change and then into the New Forest for a pre-season friendly for George in New Milton. 4-2 victory too. Such a lovely evening. Off to bed happy.

Not great. Badly cracked windscreen - 15 inches! LV= really helpful but Autoglass® tell us no replacement available until Tuesday or Wednesday. Well that’s handy 😩

I’m sat outside at 10.18 & the night sky is illuminating the garden. I’m wearing very little & still hot. I may not get the sleep I need tonight but I’ll take restless nights for evenings sat in the garden with the tranquility and warmth. Back Heart70s from 8 in the morning.
