Unexpected increases in pay for docs or other NHS staff puts a strain on the NHS budget. The service has already axed 17k posts and faces an underlying (optimistic) deficit of Β£2.2bn

To see Elon Musk-Trump and Reform both fracturing is not unpleasant in any way. A reminder to those on both extreme sides of the middle that it always fractures in the end

β€œGod Only Knows” is the most beautiful song pop music has every produced. It’s never been matched, I don’t think it ever will.

It’s fashionable to think right of centre parties are all the same but I heard several interviews today with conservative MP Bob Black who has a large Gujarati community in his seat and has been talking to temple leaders and the whole community all day. Reform would not do this

tomseasman Sir Chris Ham But the dominant narrative focusses on assigning MOST of the blame to the problems in social care and this allows hospitals an excuse to ignore their fixable internal problems.

This was an inevitable reaction but Wes Streeting should resist such calls. NICE have done the job we needed it to do. These drugs might offer a tantalising glimpse of better Alz care but they are far from ideal.

Shaun Lintern Wes Streeting Lobbyists wil lobby. But the drugs are thought to have benefits too small to matter and some experts doubt they exist at all. The NHS should not be in the business of offering false hope especially when it costs an extra 10% of its drug budget.
