#CBH23 update: stop in the cradle of the Renaissance, Florence⚜️! Participants visited the Brancacci Chapel in Santa Maria del Carmine⛪️The works of Masolino, Masaccio, & Lippi were even more impressive in person, and the restoration work underway was truly remarkable.🖌️

Then, we visited Santa Croce & the restoration site of the Giotto frescoes in the Bardi Chapel. Witnessing the painstaking work that goes into preserving these works of art was truly humbling! The visit to Florence is organized in collab w/ the City of Florence & HeRe_Lab #CBH23

In the afternoon #CBH23 participants went to Villa Medicea di Castello to visit its gardens and the site of the Animal's Grotto. The director and his team presented the project, the adaptive reuse of the spaces + the additions made to rehabilitate the buildings.

The day ended with an introduction to Florence #WorldHeritage property, which requires continuous cooperation, research-practice, collaboration and lots of practice. We thank Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore and FirenzeWorldHeritage for helping to organize this very interesting & fruitful trip!
