Results indicate that bystanders report when there is a clear need of help, centering the well-being of victim(s). Reporting is often part of a continuum of actions, is often done as a last resort and tends to impact the bystander emotionally. 2/4

Further, we see some differences between intimate terrorism (IT) and situational couple violence (SCV). In IT, concerns related to the well-being of the woman (sometimes including fear for lethal abuse), whereas in SCV the involvement of children appeared to be crucial. 3/4
