Our first Wales Air Ambulance Charity Aircraft in the Caernarfon base, the good old charismatic Bolkow BO-105, Reg G-AZOR (or Gazza as we affectionately called her!). Fun to fly in, but so small inside, we wouldn’t fit 1/5th of the kit that we now carry in it. (Pic not mine, early PR Shot)

After our first Bolkow, thanks to support for the charity, we managed to upgrade to the ‘Stretched’ version of the BO-105....The DBS, which gave us a whole 10” extra interior space! It might not sound a lot, but it really did make a big difference.🚁 Wales Air Ambulance Charity #Helimed61

In 2009 Caernarfon #Helimed61 got a big upgrade, to the EC-135 (H-135 now), we moved into the modern helicopter era, with an aircraft platform that was designed for this kind of role, once again, supporters of Wales Air Ambulance Charity made this happen! 👍🚁

My ears were alerted to a familiar sound from years gone by, and then I see the fabulous SeaKing in full RAF SAR Yellow from Historic Helicopters Living near RAF valley, I used to see these every day, and working alongside, (and inside) them too, thanks for the fly by. Wales Air Ambulance Charity

First rail journey today with no A/C, but opening windows was uncomfortable. Second journey home, with no A/C and NO opening windows on the carriage is unbearable. Not acceptable Trafnidiaeth Cymru Trenau Transport for Wales Rail , not acceptable at all.

It was fantastic to have 2 base visits & Cheque presentations yesterday, plus a crowd of people at Café HEMS who’ve come to see #Helimed61 , with lots of interested questions from adults & children too. Being visible to the public who support Wales Air Ambulance Charity is invaluable.👍🚁😁

Whilst away on leave the last 4 weeks, the 20th anniversary of the #Helimed61 Caernarfon base passed. It’s also a personal celebration marking 20 years of flying onboard Wales Air Ambulance Charity , I have served during 3 decades of my life, my 20’s, 30’s & 40’s & proud to continue to do so.
