Jersey Cares have welcomed this move but say more needs to be done to provide stable homes for children in care so they have better outcomes when they leave. Jersey Cares told me a disproportionate number of care leavers are ending up in homeless shelters and Le Moye prison

Yesterday was a very good day for independent advocacy in Jersey. A proposition was successful with unanimous support in the States to make Independent advocacy ‘statutory’- which means a law to ensure that this will always be available to Jersey children in care.

Jersey Cares have completed carbon literacy training with AsndEco and have made carbon pledges to ensure that as a charity we can work to ensure all of those with care experience in Jersey can come to know love, belonging & opportunity, while keeping our carbon footprint light.
