🚨SCAM ALERT🚨 I had a call this morning from a vigilant citizen who took a call from a scammer claiming to be ME! As a reminder, the Police will NOT call you and ask for cash or crypto to take care of a fake warrant arrest. Hang up, and don’t be fooled. Be vigilant!

Numerous power poles along Giles Road have blown over and landed in the roadway. As a result westbound Giles Road is closed from 96th Street to 107th Street. We have officers and OPPD at the scene, but the road will be closed for at least several hours, so please avoid the area.

Very proud of Blair Police Department Officer Jacob Flynn for completing Basic Motor Officer training in Bellevue this week. Four officers from various departments successfully completed this TOUGH two week course. Congrats to all!

In 2024, 148 Law Enforcement Officers were killed in the line of duty. This week, National Police Week, their names will be added to the memorial in Washington DC. Please join me this in reflecting on the sacrifices these officers made to their communities. #NationalPoliceWeek

Very proud of our own Blair Police Department Officer Brandon Guern and the members of the Blair Volunteer Fire Department who were honored tonight for saving the life of a heart attack victim a couple of weeks ago! Your quick actions were heroic and worthy of this recognition. #teamwork

Blair PD has learned that a local church email was been compromised and sent a request to church members asking them to purchase “gift cards”, which has been discovered to be a scam. Please be cautious when asked for donations through email. BE CYBER SAVVY!

This morning, on my way into the office, I spotted City of Blair, NE Mayor Mindy Rump and her son Max, working hard clearing out the landscaping around the Blair Police Department flagpole. Thanks Mayor and Max for caring about the City, the PD and our image. Our staff is very appreciative!

Today, I was truly honored to have a visit from Chief Schofield, Capt. Armbrust and Stacia Burt to my new home at Blair Police Department. I was presented with my official La Vista Police retirement badge and ring. I will proudly wear my ring and be reminded of my 31 years spent at LVPD.
