Practice some crosshauls using CMC Clutches - 11mm on top and 13mm on the low side. These are part of our Confined Space Rescue Rigging Challenges Clinic, and require the operators to communicate and avoid obstacles throughout a designated path.

Thought it would be fun to see ice rescue in high speed from the air. Great value to using #dronesforgood from accountability, to searching, to getting invaluable perspective on training. CTR pilots are FAA licensed & have been training public safety UAS teams for over 4 years.

Scenarios are a valuable learning tool & present some additional challenges. Drones can also give great perspective to the IC throughout a complex search and rescue. Accountability and situational awareness in this complex environment are unparalleled thanks to #drones4good.

We spent a couple days working with an industrial ERT on confined space and rope rescue refreshers while also getting in some scaffolding rescue drills. CMC Petzl #training #rescue

We’ve been spending time this week to up for another work van and getting ready to retire one. Plus spent some time playing around with some rigging in the shop for a standby rescue of a horizontal entry into a large vertical space, with little structural anchor points.

Showing students some options for rigging main and belay systems when a pre-rigged 4:1 won’t work. What is your go to setup in these scenarios? @neptunespecialops All Hands Fire @petzl CMC

March is flying by and we suddenly realized that CTR turned 15 years in business this month! Even though things are still COVID crazy in NY we’ve been getting a lot done around the shop, up fitting some of our vans, doing standby rescues for essential clients and teaching!

Congrats to CTR Instructor John Stewart who retired this morning from the City of Saratoga Springs Fire Department after 27 years of service. SSFD honored him with a nice walking out ceremony after his last tour of duty.

Cleaning up around our shop looks a bit different than most places of employment. Of course we are getting more work done on our anchors and changing out some of the software we use while performing inspections.

We’ve been playing around with the new @petzl Spin series for a little while now and have decided to start integrating some of them into our rescue kits.

While CTR was providing standby rescue services this weekend to a client, another crew was teaching a Trench Rescue Technician Program to Amenia Fire Company and their team. They got a lot of practice with their new Paratech Fire & Rescue Equipment struts and airbags.

We’ve been busy supporting multiple clients. Here, in a confined space entry where workers are protected by our systems from fall hazards and on our retrieval systems. Their challenge is leaking water which in this entry has more flow than others encountered so far.
