Today was a bittersweet day La Vista Police. We celebrated the retirement of our friend and colleague Captain Jeremy Kinsey. Jeremy has spent 35 years in public service, 31 years @cityoflavista. He will continue his career as the Chief City of Blair, NE. Congratulations, my friend.

Congratulations! Well earned & deserved. A leader within the organization who exemplifies the morale courage and character we demand of our officers. Great police work!! The pride I, and we, at the police department have for him being recognized for his work is immeasurable!

Very proud of our own Blair Police Department Officer Brandon Guern and the members of the Blair Volunteer Fire Department who were honored tonight for saving the life of a heart attack victim a couple of weeks ago! Your quick actions were heroic and worthy of this recognition. #teamwork

Today the LVPD Honor Guard was present at the Police Memorial Service, which honored those officers (current and retired) from all metro area agencies who have passed away in the last year. Thanks to the La Vista community for supporting the men and women of the LVPD.

It was an honor to attend the award ceremony with Sgt. Nick Boswell who nominated OFC Orduna for the award and received it on his behalf. Congratulations to all of the award recipients. Very impressive work to reduce impaired driving.

As we honor our nation’s fallen warriors, we also remember how unique our founding principles are in history. The heroes who died for these principles, made the dream of generational freedom and individual liberty a reality for all of us. May we never forget their sacrifice.
