Thanks, Senator Elliott. As a graduate of the last class of Elaine High School before mandated consolidation, I sincerely appreciate your efforts.

So… it’s 13 days after I first exhibited symptoms. I’m one of the COVID breakthrough cases, as I was vaccinated in May. I can’t express how thankful I am for the vaccine. I didn’t pass the virus to my parents or son. Still dealing w/ fatigue, but other symptoms have subsided.

52% of all counties have smaller populations in 2020 than in 2010. Metro areas are prominent this decade as the locations of population growth amidst otherwise widespread population decline.

"But money for broadband won't fix the opportunity imbalance on its own. We must also debunk a pervasive myth about rural America that says small towns can't support innovation and technology. They can—and do." - Matt Dunne Center on Rural Innovation Newsweek newsweek.com/we-need-rural-…

#arpx #arleg Gov. Gov. Asa Hutchinson lays down a goal at Arkansas Farm Bureau Connectivity Summit to distribute $250 million in new broadband contracts before year-end. That’s a quarter billion dollars. Would be huge boon to rural Arkansas. Wants communities to be up and running by end of 2022.

If we could increase our investment in #CapacityBuilding, that would be a game changer. Finance on its own isn't enough to transform Rural communities. But finance tied to strong local organizations is a different ballgame. -@justindmaxson #InvestInRural

House passes BBB w/a key provision that invests $1 billion in a new #RuralPartnershipProgram. Excellent first step in modernizing federal #rural policy, recognizing the diversity and innovation in rural America by investing directly in local leaders & local solutions.

In today's AR Democrat-Gazette my college roommate, Clif Chitwood, Mississippi County's Economic Development Director, said the worst view "of the Delta is that we are in need of charity. No we are in need for investment." He's right.

We are so excited to kickoff the IT/Cybersecurity Fundamentals program! With 13 participants in this inaugural class, we are so fortunate to have Forge Institute as a partner in this effort. Pics: full group and program participant Linda Grove at the training site in Elaine.
