We do the best we can. Sometimes our work seems to pay off... and sometimes it doesn’t. But I guarantee you our work always matters. And we will continue to care about the students.

Be careful your class rules are never more important than your relationships with your students. Much more can be accomplished through a relationship than a rule could ever hope to achieve. When you make the effort to connect, it makes it much easier to direct and correct.

For me, remaining “positive” is not about always having a great day or a perfect attitude. (We all have rough days.) But it is about keeping things in perspective. And it is about an abiding certainty that we can choose to make a difference every day, in spite of the adversity.

Something to ponder. For a long time, taking a class again after not passing has been a common practice. Yet allowing students to redo an assignment still causes some to question if we are giving kids too many chances. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Have a student you're struggling with & you're out of ideas? Try the 'two-by-ten' strategy: For two minutes each day, 10 days in a row, have a personal conversation with the #student about anything the student is interested in, but NO school or behavior. #edchat #education
