MTG on Speaker Johnson being last vote to tank warrant requirement amendment and what it means for motion to vacate: “Being *the* vote that took down the warrant amendment certainly brought other members over to my side.”

Fair but also required under House Rule 1-7 titled “Discretion to vote.” “When such a vote would be decisive or when the House is voting by ballot.”

“The Speaker doesn’t always vote in the House, but he was the tie breaker today. He voted against warrants.”

Asked Bishop if he would change his vote to *yes* if they change FISA reauthorization from five to two years; he said he didn’t want to comment on it.

Not necessarily undecided, he said, but “I just don't think it'd be helpful to the process for me to comment.”

Rep. Fitzpatrick says changing FISA sunset from five to two years would be “a mistake.”
