To commemorate the Marshall Islands' Remembrance Day, some of our Pacific Islands Forum leaders who were at the Secretariat recently, shared a few words of solidarity. May God bless the Marshall Islands, and may God bless our beloved Blue Pacific continent.

A very emotional remembrance ceremony indeed. Grateful to have been part of it. It is countries like RMI and its issues that continues to remind us of why regionalism exists at the first place. #NuclearLegacy #ClimateChange #Security #Connectivity #MobilityEtc #PacificRegionalism

Congratulations to the RMI 🇲🇭 for signing the ʻRarotonga Treatyʻ. This is indeed a historic moment. And definitely a step in the right direction. Thank you RMI for your leaderahip and do hope this signals remaining PIF non-state parties to also follow suit. 👏🏾👏🏾

"these efforts often exist in isolation, lacking a cohesive framework to bring them all together, ... Now must be the time to build on these successes and create an integrated, long-term, visionary, Pacific-centric “rules-based order”.

States carry an important duty in ensuring protection of their people (including women and girls) and that "continuity of statehood" (irrespective of the impacts of sea-level rise) is necessary and fundamental for that protection to be implemented and for it to endure.

The last time there was a signature was in 1996. RMI’s signing was indeed historical. Very pleased to have witnessed it. Amongst the geo-strategic interest and powerplay by super-powers in the region, RMI’s pathway signals a way forward for non-Party Forum Members.

The world is interconnected. Anything can happen. Remoteness is no longer a blockade. The continued “peace” we enjoy in our region should not be taken for granted. Building on the foundations contributed by the CTBT are crucial for our ocean of peace. #CTBTO #PIF #Partnership

Develop international law was a mandate by PIF Leaders to address SLR and its impacts. The ILC’s role is critical. This week, we had ILC Chair Martins Paparinskis and H.E Margers Krams for a courtesy call. 🙏🏾 No means of talanoa can be more meaningful than a good face-to-face meeting.
