It was exciting to swear in Army veteran Keith Boylan today as CalVet Undersecretary, after his appointment by Governor Gavin Newsom Gavin Newsom. I’ve worked with Keith at CalVet for over a decade and know he will do great things in his new role.

One of my favorite things to do is visit our 8 Veterans Homes across CA. I am inspired by the heroes who live there & impressed by the dedicated staff who do an incredible job taking care of them & honoring their service. These photos are from my recent visit to the Redding Home.

I was able to visit our Yountville Veterans Home recently and check out construction on the new Skilled Nursing Facility. The 240-bed complex will revitalize the campus and help ensure the Home will be better able to meet our veterans’ current and future long-term care needs.

Yesterday I had the honor of appearing before the Senate Rules Committee. I thank the Committee for their dedication to California veterans and for recommending my confirmation to the full Senate.

It was great to join Governor Gavin Newsom Gavin Newsom and other officials in Costa Mesa today to spotlight the state’s Homekey progress. This community-based effort is transforming former hotels & other buildings statewide into housing for veterans & others experiencing homelessness.
