Another display where Scotland look pretty lethargic. A hard watch but got our noses in front. Hopefully a bit more attacking verve will be shown in the second period. Playing two holding midfielders and not having total control is a bit disconcerting.

Didn’t get better in the second half. Poor performances but six points and 10 points from 12 is a very good return. We need to play a lot better next month but this squad is capable of doing that.

This looks an incredibly tight final between Littler and Humphries. 1/2 v 6/4 too big a disparity, particularly in this format. Side with Humphries at the prices.

Tough school this. 4-0 down and every set went to a decider. Humphries trying to laugh it off. He’s had an outshot to win all of these sets as well.

"The lack of contrition shown by Stuart Hogg is mortifying. Trying to rehabilitate himself in the public eye with an interview that amounted to a pile of self-absorbed, self-serving nonsense has only harmed his image even further." mol.im/a/15191479

A 3-3 draw at Azerbaijan adds to the dire record of our Under-21s. We should be striving for far better than this absurd stale environment with our young players. Time has been up for a good while for Gemmell.

Good performance from Gameball who was highly rated in bumpers. Now at De Bromhead and that was a pleasing hurdling debut in a race that can throw up the odd high-class operator down the line. One to keep side with.

There were two or three moments when Jack Kennedy could have panicked on King Of Kingsfield. Not getting out earlier and pecking two out. You see so many jockeys instantly row away when something goes wrong. He didn’t. Gave the horse a split second to recover. Had enough to win.

Heart Wood tends to go well fresh and little surprise it’s a winning start to the season. Penalty anchored Croke Park but do suspect last season’s staying novices weren’t a great bunch. Monbeg Park running with huge credit in defeat to make the favourite work hard to win.
