“The Caretaker Problem” This is something I’ve come to understand as a trauma response that I’ve come to realize turned a gift into a curse of over exertion of my own empathetic capacity. My mother and I were the main caretakers for my father who was chronically ill for 10 years.

It took a year and a half, 27 court appearances, over $4,000, and every ounce of sanity I could muster.. My license suspension (for late payment of an accident ticket) has finally been lifted. Just got reinstated. This wrecked my life and now it's finally over

Unpacking boxes and got music playing on the lava lamp speaker and Self Esteem by The Offspring comes on. My 7 yo daughter starts singing the beginning and says "it's the song from My Little Pony!" Didn't know MLP remixed the song, but I definitely had a proud mama moment 🤘💚
