An excellent start to National Science Week last night attending a live taping of a QandA science special. Highly recommend watching the episode (available on ABC iView now) for an insightful panel discussion re: AI, women in STEM, the future of science, and more!

It was an absolute honour to introduce the 2024 cohort of Australian-American #Fulbright Scholars to an incredible crowd of friends and supporters, and celebrate 75 years since The Fulbright Program was first established in Australia. More pics from the evening coming soon! 🇦🇺🇺🇸

Looking back on an incredible few days in Canberra last week for the Fulbright Australia orientation program and gala dinner. Was an absolute pleasure meeting other Fulbrighters, Fulbright execs, U.S. Ambassadors, Aus politicians, and even the 2024 Australian of the Year!

Honoured to have been recognised amongst an incredible group of science communicators at the UNSW Science 1 Minute Thesis comp last week! Distilling your thesis into 1 min or less is no joke, but everyone did such an amazing job. Looking forward to the 3 Minute Thesis in Aug!

Curious as to how AgRP +ve and AgRP -ve NPY neurons in the Arc differ (or, spoiler, don't) in their effects on food intake when activated? Look no further than our new paper in Neuropeptides! authors.elsevier.com/c/1jNZ0Wd0MQXiK

Have had an absolute blast spending the last 3 weeks visiting the Lien Lab @ NYCU in Taiwan, learning electrophysiology from some of the masters of the art! Will miss the place, the people, and (most of all?) my beloved rig 🫶

First paper from my PhD is now out in eLife! elifesciences.org/articles/95849 We show that a gradual extinction protocol is able to minimise fear relapse. We discuss this in terms of latent state models and identify a key role for prediction error in organising memory!

The Greater Baltimore SfN chapter meeting last week was very cool for many reasons, but the fact it was held at Westminster Hall (the final resting place of Edgar Allen Poe!) may top the list
