A difficulty I have with one shots is that I've developed a GM style in mist RPGs where we have a session of investgation and buildup, then next session, the screaming starts. Only in Alien RPG were tension is pre-wound can I pull off the high stakes 1-shot. Do you have any tips?

My Sunday Shadowrun group just turned four years old, with a little short of 200 sessions 🎂 It took us that long to get through all the 1st edition official content. Now we are starting SR2. Amazing how utterly deep this world is.

When I see the notes about how you can turn any adventure path or campaign into a one-shot, I feel sad. This is like people getting excited over articles saying "turn any romance into a one night stand!"
