Puberty Blockers. A 🧵  Children’s healthcare must always be led by evidence.  Medicine given to children must always be proven safe and effective first. I know there’s lots of fear and anxiety.  Let me explain why this decision was taken. 1/9

Chernobyl was the most expensive disaster ever, it cost $700bn. Brexit is passing that right now, and by the end of the year it will be $800bn. #Brexit

Amnesty International have now quietly changed the wording of this piece to more accurately reflect reality. Afghan women and girls are no longer oppressed by the Taliban for the 'crime of identifying' as female, but because they actually are female. amnesty.org.uk/womens-rights-…

Reports a programme which v successfully incentivised personalised advance care plan in GP records. This was not included in the GP contract for 2023/24, and this change is reflected in a drop in recording of care plans for people who died from May 2023 onwards 😖

Excellent thread here. In sport studies - sociology, philosophy etc, there are a few early career people who are backing away, intellectually, from previous genderist positions. (No names). But it is not an easy thing to do, because of the oppressive culture of denounciation.

Today I asked the Secretary of State for Education about the protection of female academics, many of whom have been hounded for their work and research. The Education Secretary is right that engaging with a range of views is fundamental to a good education and I welcome her

Great question re protections for female academics who’ve been discriminated against by universities because like most of the population they believe sex is real and materially relevant

'JK Rowling is only concerned about the fact that I use the female toilet'. Yeah, no. That's not the only thing I, or any of the other millions of women concerned about the destruction of female categories, boundaries and rights, are concerned about. thetimes.com/article/99e350…

I find the lack of understanding of and respect for women’s boundaries from Petrillo so unedifying. No, the fact you have seriously impaired vision does not mean you as a 50-something male get to use women’s and girls’ changing rooms. thetimes.com/article/99e350…
