Active #subsidiarity means: regional governments and cities must always be consulted in the 🇪🇺 legislative process, especially in times of crises. In today's European Committee of the Regions consultation, SG Christian Spahr asked for more EU support for #regions to use their capacity as legislative partner.

The #AER is further stepping up its work for rural regions & on agriculture, with our Vice President Cllr. Gerry Murray advocating for the specific needs of rural communities + small regions and cities. He will co-chair a new Task Force that our Bureau is setting up. AER

Tourism needs to recover in a green and more digital way and serve the presentation of regions at the international level well. We discussed with the European Commission DG GROW to feed #AER members' needs into EU consultations & promote EU support for tourism amongst AER
