#APPoftheDay Elizabeth Leason is a PhD student Particle Physics Experiment - PPE - Edinburgh working on LUX and LZ Dark Matter, two direct detection experiments looking for dark matter SanfordLab. In this video she explains how she and her collaborators used LUX data to search for Mirror Dark Matter. 1/3

#APPoftheDay Kareem Farrag's poster for Neutrino2020, searching for #sterileneutrinos using astrophysical neutrino flavour ratios IceCube Neutrino Observatory and built awesome flavour tetrahedron. Learn from the video! Video shorturl.at/fnLR2 @PhysicsatQM Paper doi.org/10.1088/1475-7…

Great success for KCL Physics King's Mathematics @KingsNMS in today's announcements!

What is it that you know is there, but can’t see; and is all around us, but can’t touch? No it’s not a ghost… it’s #DarkMatter! Find out more about this mysterious substance on #DarkMatterDay 👉 sanfordlab.org/event/deep-tal… UK Research and Innovation

We’re working towards building an atom interferometer for #DarkMatter and #GravitationalWave detection in a 100 m (then 1 km!) deep shaft - this week we visited a possible site at the Boulby underground lab Boulby Underground Laboratory in North Yorkshire. Thanks for having us! Science and Technology Facilities Council

Our theory teams KCL Physics and Cambridge University Cavendish Laboratory have a new #ArXiv paper! We’ve characterised the impact of gravity gradient noise on dark matter searches with #AtomInterferometry 🌌 arxiv.org/abs/2211.01854

Our grad students have had a photo contest and we'll reveal the winners over the next few days 📸 Thanks to contest organiser John Carlton KCL Physics! In third place was Yu Zhi from Cambridge University Cavendish Laboratory with 'A binary system and “gravitational” waves: where are they?'

The search for dark matter is on!🥳 The Migdal experiment🧪, a collaboration of 11 institutions led by @RutherfordAplab PPD and Imperial College London, has been constructed at the NILE facility at ISIS Neutron and Muon Source and it’s ready to receive its first neutrons ⚛️
