Is it just me, or is Ukraine's forward path the most difficult possible due to the layers of common trenches and Surovikin systems? I guess get the difficult stuff out of the way first and then things get easier.

The new railway to Mariupol continues to grow. Excavated segments are shown in blue. 5.8 km have been excavated between Sept 25-30, 2023. Unexcavated segments shown in red with 23.2 km to go. At the recent rate, excavation will be complete in a week and the line open soon after.

Here is the north end of the new railway as seen on Sept 30, 2023 by Sentinel 2. The north end is about 14.3 km long. 2nd image is closeup of the end of the northern portion. Preliminary excavation has begun between two segments. This gap should be bridged in a couple of days.

Here is the southern third of the new railway. There is a bit more work to be done on this end. This points to supplies and equipment coming either from Taganrog or from Donetsk and then joining at Kuteinykove to go southwest to the new spur, explaining progress at north end.

The new railway line to Mariupol continues to develop. Now there are less than 10 km to excavate. The line may be open within 2 weeks.
