There's a Cradle Catholic v. Covert discourse on TikTok and while it's becoming a flex on religious trauma, I gotta agree, most converts copy envagelicism in at least one way or another. While some Cradle Catholics that take on the Evangelist attitude, they're less insufferable.

Given the rise of Catholic Nationalism, and the overlap between that and MAGA Catholics, I love that they elected a moderate American-born duel citizen of Peru, who pushes back against MAGA.

Earlier this year I would get woken up by messages with "mafia-style" threats that ICE target me if I didn't change my attitude. I sincerely hope that I'm still not living rent-free in their mind as California destabilizes, not for my personal safety, but for everyone else's.
