First #bumblebee of the yr & not the species I would expect to see yet! A beautiful Southern cuckoo bee (Bombus vestalis). Check out her hairy hind leg, this area would be shiny & hairless (apart from long stiff outer hairs) in her host the buff-tailed bumblebee. Bumblebee Conservation Trust
A beautiful Bufftailed bumblebee queen getting ‘stuck in’ to the Iris retuculata in the garden today. Bumblebee Conservation Trust
