Helping to beautify Hale this year! A new ‘Hale U3A Village Gardeners’ group has formed to clear, replant & maintain 21 square planters. Each team of two is designing a couple of planters so there will be lots of colour & variety. Guided by Busy Little Bee, it’ll be stunning!

All of the plants removed from the Hale village planters on Saturday have been transplanted to areas around the Bowling Green. The new volunteer group from Hale U3A will be planting up in the next few weeks once compost has been refreshed.

Our friends, Hale U3A Village Gardeners, began planting the square planters in the village yesterday and will continue this week. Pretty soon, the hanging baskets will be out and Busy 🐝 Little 🐝 Bee 🐝 will be doing the fountain planters too. 👍🏻

This Thursday from 2.30-4.30pm we’re giving away FREE Cineraria Silver Dust plants if you bring your own bags and collect from us outside Altrincham Interchange. They can easily be pruned back to smaller size and will recover quickly. Of course, donations are always welcome!

Windy today 💨 so much compost was eaten (pah!) while we were planting our ‘Ready, Steady, Go’ planting scheme in Amberol UK beehive planters outside #Altrincham Interchange today. It’s a drought-resistant mix of hot reds, oranges, yellows and greens plus Jet Black Ipomoea ☀️🕶️

Tomorrow morning before she runs the town’s Community Litter Pick, our Busy 🐝 Little 🐝 Bee 🐝 will be replacing the railing planters alongside the Clock Tower which belong to Altrincham BID. That whole area is going to look glorious by Monday 👍🏻☀️

Hanging baskets heading for Hale very soon. A problem with peat-free compost has been resolved by swapping out for a more reliable alternative. Tried several manufacturers of peat-free and none of it is any good. Very costly to growers who rely on compost to support good growth.
