While we offer CPR starting at 12yrs, even a child can understand "Push hard & push fast"; you never know where they may be if the need arises. Can they do it correctly at a young age? Maybe. But something is better than nothing because the alternative is just not acceptable.

#BurtonFD continues to train on water shuttling for areas in Beaufort County, SC without hydrants. We have an agreement with our neighbor Sheldon FD to automatically respond their water tanker carrying 2000gal of water; so it's only prudent we include them & train with them.

#BurtonFD remembers Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) paramedic supervisor & training officer Julie Williams, a 20yr veteran of EMS, who lost her battle with cancer 10yrs ago today. Julie was #bcscems 2001 Paramedic of the Year & one of only eight people to receive the National Association of EMS Educators Hero's Award.

This weekend #BurtonFD, Beaufort/Port Royal FD, Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, SC joined Vaden of Beaufort & Beaufort Walmart for a "Fill the Tank" school supply drive. Our generous citizens filled the tank with over $5,000 worth of needed school supplies that will be distributed to Beaufort Schools, SC.

This week #BurtonFD Paramedics & Advanced EMTs worked on advanced cardiac life support protocols & skills. Crews trained on identifying cardiac rhythms, deciding on medical treatments, calculating medication doses, & utilized teamwork to apply their skills.
