Super excited for this one and Alice Lowe has written a fascinating article in this month's Empire Magazine on making an ambitious time travel romcom on a tiny budget.

Another film I'm super excited about, a haunted house story told from the POV of a ghost and best of all, it's Soderbergh doing a supernatural film.

Rebel Ridge; another triumph of a Saulnier film, echoes of Reacher, McQuarrie, and 90s thrillers, a magnificent Pierre with his steely calm demeanour and his fierce intelligence, refreshingly choreographed action sequences, a smart script throwing up surprises and a superb cast.

Thought this was such an assured feature film debut by James Gray exploring family estrangement set in the world of Brighton Beach’s Russian immigrant criminals and elegantly and classically-made.

Now I would happily just use this neat 15 second promo to promote my film without resorting to overlong and spoiler-filled trailers.

Managed to find a decent-priced copy of the first of Jeff Bridges' Pictures books and as ever, his Widelux camera wonderfully captures the privilege of working on film sets.

Synecdoche's Conversations with James Gray is an absolute must-read hence my current marathon of his films, a fiercely intelligent film writer / director with a huge passion for cinema and doesn't waver when he strives for quality filmmaking in his uncommercial stories.
