Two old chaps have been sitting together quietly for the past hour in this cafe. I don't think they know each other, they both just wanted to sit in the window and watch the world go by.

A woman's entered, hugged one of them and shouted his name really loudly. The cafe is not busy today, so it's been nice and peaceful. this made us all jump. She's very excited to see him, and has pulled up a chair to join them.

Was delving over the weekend into the research for my next seasonal talk on the "Vulgar Tongue" across three BCP Libraries in 2020 (April-May). Finding some wonderful examples from Victorian slang, Yiddish, Cant and Flash. With some RAF lingo for good measure.
