Good thing they took their sweet ass time getting going at Springfield. Listening to music play over the PA for 30 minutes was the clincher. Bob Sargent and USAC apparently never look at the radar to realize a schedule needs tweaked. Clueless!

Sad to see the pitiful crowd at Husets, as USAC remains the best kept secret in racing. However, I have to wonder just how much the attendance would have improved if it wasn’t shown live on FLO.

It takes a lot to get me fired up these days, but Robert Ballou winning from 17th Kokomo Speedway , with 4 wheels above the cushion and with a caved-in right side downtube, did the trick. Also winning the B from 10th, his old-school drive and determination was awe-inspiring.
