You're absolutely correct & I agree your opinion is shared with 300 million of your constituents. In Japan houses build themselves, shops have no staff, trains drive themselves, food cooks itself etc. This is all so salarymen can work long hours and drink.

2 cans of paint. Red represents Japan & white is the rest of the world. Everytime you put a little more white paint into the red it changes & it's very difficult to change back. Add too much & it will never be the same again.

No! Laws in Japan aren't really laws they're just a 'guide'. It's like asking if you have to pay to ride the train or using any of the thousands of free bikes parked all over the country.
