The number of dumb vapid people that think "just enjoy the music bro" is a really cool nonchalant way of going about this is mind numbing. Its not that people are going just to be talking politics, its that the entire concept was a counter-culture born out of political strife

Its inherently political because of its origins as a means for persecuted people to come together. That safety does not and should not apply to people very plainly trying to be culture vultures or worse: people who are actively antagonistic towards those groups seeking safety

Electronic music's counter-cultural roots don't make it (currently) tied to a specific political project, it's just that refusing to let it be an avenue for discussion, a safe space for vulnerable groups and/or a base to organize from, is the political choice here.
