I don't think any disabled person should have to use up all their savings, or rely on their partner's income, to survive. Not should it be a disadvantage to live with or get married to someone you love.

People don’t like it when you talk about your chronic illness/disability even though it can affect you physically, emotionally, and financially and can also affect your friendships, relationships, jobs, hobbies, diet, sleep, etc. It’s genuinely hard not to talk about something

Disabled person: Explains how PIP works, the assessments, and how difficult it is. Abled person: “Nah that’s bullshit” This is the real issue. No matter what we say, no matter how often we tell them the facts, they will never listen or believe us.

PIP assessment conclusions are like: “Didn’t sound in pain during the telephone assessment”. And I really want to know what they think someone being in 24/7/365 chronic pain sounds like

Honestly the way some people talk about disabled folk it's like they're jealous... Trust me, you don't want this life. I'll trade my disabilities out any day. There is no incentive, financially or otherwise, in being disabled.

Even at my absolute lowest, I kept smiling, laughing, and cracking jokes. You don’t want to know what thoughts hid behind that mask. You can’t measure someone's pain by how they look - please don't assume they're okay.
