The tariffs don't make sense as economic policy because they aren't economic policy. They are a tool to undermine our democracy. A means to force every major company and industry in America to pledge loyalty to Trump in return for tariff relief.

Trump loves tariffs because he feels like it’s a way to shake people down. Even better, shake FOREIGNERS down. He thinks protectionism is more akin to a protection racket. He clearly gets an almost sexual thrill from announcing them, and the more, and the higher, the better.

The reason everyone important keeps misreading events is that they keep looking at stuff that exists out of Trump’s head - macro electoral, economic trends - but what’s driving the world now is the black narcissistic void INSIDE Trump’s head, that they don’t want to talk about
