5th graders were working on learning about the different materials used to create a drawing. I have Ss create the same drawing of their choice using each material. I’m teaching them how to make their own choices & how artists experiment to find the best material for their idea.

Today, 7th grade learned how artists express ideas, opinions and emotions through the use of symbolism. We talked about things like the Holocaust, equal rights, and 9/11. At the end, I asked Ss to write down one thing they took away from today’s lesson. Simple but informative.

Alaina D (8th) did an amazing job with her #paperquilling #artwork of a #toucan. She chose the medium and the subject matter and ran with it. She is excellent with attention to detail and completed this in such a short amount of time. I am incredibly proud of her!

6th graders are working on building 3D or relief cardboard sculptures. They learned about different attachment techniques, all the tools & some even took advantage of working in partners to create projects with the same theme. They are working hard and are doing a fantastic job!

Aright! These boys (6th grade) are finished with their collaborative 3D sculpture!! Nate built soccer cleats out of cardboard and Heyden made the World Cup using a top of a soda bottle, aluminum foil, hot glue, cardboard and spray paint to make the trophy.

Our Paint Day Fundraiser was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who came out to create a holiday painting or craft and supported our National Art Honor Society! We hope to see everyone again next year!
