Bill Shope Don’t be surprised if they partner AND secretly build their own. Based on one their recent papers, I think it’s safe to assume that they’ve been building their own on Apple hardware but simply can’t deploy at scale without a partner for the moment.
Bill Shope Apps may reside on the phone and interoperate with Siri through apis or maybe not reside on the phone at all but exist as api calls to the web. Either way less about users interacting with apps and more about Siri following voice prompts for actions.
Bill Shope I agree completely. Apple will view on device AI as the correct area of focus with Siri being that vehicle. Gemini will backfill where Siri cannot. The entire OS will eventually change to an action and memory interface with services from app developers fulfilling niche demands.
