CA is a clean energy leader and rooftop solar has been integral to that. If we want to continue that leadership, taxing solar is the last thing we should do. Gavin Newsom California PUC It’s time to #SaveSolar

We should absolutely expand virtual power plant programs dramatically, but there are two very simple facts far short of that.

First, if a battery charges during the daytime and discharges during the evening on every summer weekday, it provides tremendous grid benefit. That can be achieved with good TOU rates.

Second, battery adoption will not grow if we kill rooftop solar. Fighting against customer solar and batteries is giving the keys to the utilities that under corporate law must remain focused on maximizing profits to shareholders.

It's really that simple.

So many good jobs are on the line with a bad NEM-3 decision. We need to keep solar jobs growing, giving workers an opportunity to work in an industry that is part of the solution to climate change. Gavin Newsom California PUC, #SaveSolar jobs in California!
