Today, in presentation form, I will be tearing apart my own abstract and the language I used when I submitted it. The perks of fast-paced PhD learning... constant critical analysis of my own rhetoric and getting the 'ick' at my own words! There is no other way 🤣 I can't wait!

So far, I am massively impressed with the work and effort put into making this 2-day event accessible for people. Amazing accommodation, thought-provoking sessions, delightfully helpful and friendly team. What a treat!!!

At the SGSSS Summer School today, Jo Edson Ferrie delivered an inspirational and raw session about emotion, research and neoliberal universities. This was not only thought-provoking, but I left feeling seen, validated, held and refreshed. Thank you Jo!

Yesterday we held our first Expert by Experience research development session for the PhD project exploring forced displacement and lone parenthood. This space was held beautifully by each member and we laid the foundation for what we hope will be an exciting research project!

While working away on the PhD, I've also been busy behind the scenes prepping for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe! Today I had the pleasure of attending the The Binks Hub and The Ripple 's "Alternative futures - who decides?" exhibition at Dovecot. They were showcasing stories of lived experiences through art, exploring memories, realities, hopes and dreams. It was incredible.
