Alex surprised the Stroke Unit team with a visit to @RDEhospitals today! Alex is a LCpl in the Royal Engineers who, in August 2018, suffered a stroke whilst on a PT exercise. Since then he has been supported by DMWS Welfare Officers Sara, Jason and John. DMWS DNRC

Long overdue but really pleased to see this happening now! It may or may not change the way veterans are supported but it’s a start! It will certainly allow veterans to still feel connected to the forces in some capacity, even if it is through a piece of plastic! 👍🏼
