Successful first Amer Soc of Crim presentation this morning:) Thank you to everyone who came out at 8am on a Saturday and asked questions about using the mail system to interview folks who are incarcerated and about the pains these individuals face on a daily basis!

This #givingtuesday2022 we want to highlight some of the organizations that were part of our recent, transformative ACE! civil rights tour. Foot Soldiers Park seeks to commemorate the hallowed ground where the Bloody Sunday march began. 1/ footsoldierspark.org/donate?fbclid=…

Just a reminder that TRIVIA is tonight at 6pm Ornery Beer Company. Students & faculty - we hope to see you there!

A little bit of personal and professional news… I’m transferring PhD programs to Sam Houston, which means that Ben and I are moving to Texas in July! I’m very excited to be reunited with the woman who got me started on this crazy journey, the lovely Danielle S. Rudes . Yeehaw đź¤

Extra excited to share this one in Punishment and Society. In a new ethnography, I explore influence & resistance at a nonprofit reentry organization, where the goals of the penal voluntary sector mix with those of state agencies to produce a hybrid form of punishment. doi.org/10.1177/146247…

Great presentations today at the Sam Houston State Teaching and Learning Conference by CJC faculty Dr. Elizabeth Hartsell, Wanda Leal, Danielle S. Rudes and PhD student Bryce Kushmerick-McCune!
