Rick’s sets + staging can be super stripped down because his art is gonna do most of the storytelling — but when the art/fashion/subject/music not saying nothing AND the set is stripped down, there’s just…space 🧍🏾‍♀️

Love Rick but the Rick Owensification of visual outputs means we keep seeing concrete, slab + blank space sets + staging. Like I get it, it’s likely to keep the photo, video, etc “timeless” but bring back actual props + sets with depth so there’s storytelling
