We celebrated #NationalPoetryDay2024 Eve with a visit from the wonderful Liz Berry reading from The Home Child. Some people came for the poetry, others for the story; everyone for the Black Country accent. A poem read in the voice that wrote it is a joy forever ♥️

Book delivery day always good for the obligatory Jenga shot. Just some of the fiction flying onto our shelves this month. We add approx. 1000 new books throughout the year. As someone exclaimed the other week..."you do normal books" yes we do....whatever normal may be!

Go see this talk if you can. Adam Smyth and The Book Makers was a highlight of our event calendar this year. A fantastic read, a must for anyone who loves print, the processes and the people behind the surprising stories Adam brings to life off his page.
