Camp life is the best life! I am thankful for all who came and participated in Camp Invention at Butterfield Trail Elementary this summer! I am especially thankful for our teacher leaders and volunteers who gave up a week of their summer to be with our campers this year! #onefps

I think about this all the time. Not only for my personal children and students, but about the people I look up to and value based on their leadership skills.

People matter. And you can’t achieve anything great on your own. Letting people know how much they matter and how much you care about them is equally important.

Great leaders do not allow tough situations to overcome them. They know that others will use their journey as inspiration. Be great today! #leadership #suptchat #EduGladiators #leadupchat #leadlap #CelebratED #JoyfulLeaders #WarmDemanders #CrazyPLN #edchat #satchat

🗣️ We all know "class participation" usually means "speaking up." But speaking up isn't the same as engagement. Let's be inclusive of those who are more introspective, #introverts, those with social anxiety, and those uncomfortable speaking up. #LeadInclusion #Teachers #UDL

• Study hard. • What others think of you is none of your business. • It's OK not to have all the answers. • Experiment, Fail, Learn and Repeat. • Knowledge comes from experience. • Imagination is important. • Do what interests you the most. • Stay curious

This has me missing Saturday mornings and #leadupchat I always looked forward to the wonderful and engaging conversations from educators all over!

When our kids are given choices, they have to take initiative, set goals, and create strategies so they can be successful. With enough opportunities to practice, students will build these "self-directed" muscles and know that everything they need to be successful is inside them.

If we think about the three networks of the brain, you'll realize why it's so critical that educators and caretakers use multiple strategies to motivate kids, teach them to how to access information, and allow them to express what they've learned. bit.ly/3KKnqGJ #UDL

Scaffolds are meant to be TEMPORARY. Otherwise, we'd still be looking at the Statue of Liberty like this... It's no different for learning. Scaffolds were meant to be used & then eventually taken down.
